City Gov’t Distributes Financial Aid to 1,787 Families


P10.64M Given to 1,787 Sendong affected families

City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano playfully hugs a kid while talking to the mother who is one among 1,787 beneficiaries whose homes were either totally or partially washed out during the typhoon Sendong flood. The beneficiaries who received financial aid (taken from the City Government’s Calamity Fund) for this batch came from Barangays Balulang, Agusan, Baikingon, and Balubal.


A total of 1,787 families, from the Barangays of Balulang, Agusan, Baikingon, and Balubal, whose houses were partially damaged or totally washed out received financial aid from the local government worth P10,644,000.00.

City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano, Vice Mayor Caesar Ian Acenas, members of the City Council, and members of the Crisis Committee witnessed this 2nd phase of distribution of financial aid on February 10, 2012 at the City Tourism Hall.

“Though what we are giving is not much, it is wholeheartedly given with the hope that it can help you in your efforts to recover from your difficult ordeal,” the mayor expressed.

In the first phase of the financial aid distribution held last February 2, 2012, 323 families who lost their loved ones received from the city government P15,000.00 per deceased family member. About P5M pesos were given at that time the funds of which were also sourced from the 5% Calamity Fund.
