Groundbreaking in Indahag
City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano does the honor of piling the first few bricks during the groundbreaking ceremony held in the relocation site at Indahag where 1,750 houses are to be built by the Habitat for Humanity – Philippines. Some officials from the NHA, DSWD, and Habitat were in attendance.
Groundbreaking & Boodle Fight in Indahag
City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano joins a toast with representatives from the Habitat for Humanity – Philippines, City Hall officials and NHA & DSWD officials, during a boodle fight after the groundbreaking ceremonies held in Indahag as the construction of 1,750 houses begin.
“Very soon, 1,750 houses built by the Habitat for Humanity Philippines will rise in the government-owned 10-hectare Indahag Relocation Site,” City Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Y. Emano, announced.
“Also, 300 other houses are being built by the Oro Habitat For Humanity, Inc. in the Calaanan Relocation Site,” the Mayor added.
The Mayor, together with officials of the Habitat for Humanity Philippines, Vice Mayor Caesar Ian Acenas, City Council members, and members of the City Crisis Committee, headed the separate groundbreaking ceremonies of the above-mentioned permanent housing sites last February 10, 2012.
“I wholeheartedly thank the Habitat for Humanity, together with the DSWD, NHA, and other supportive organizations, for their selfless assistance and support to help the city get back to its feet after the calamity,” the Mayor said.
