VYE Assures Permanent Homes for All Tent City Occupants

City Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Y. Emano assured everyone that all Tent City dwellers shall soon be relocated to the permanent houses in the Calaanan Relocation Area built by the Habitat for Humanity and the City Government by the end of April.

This, after an agreement was made between the Habitat For Humanity, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the City Government. The Mayor stated that the raffling supposed to be implemented by Councilor Nadya Emano-Elipe will no longer be necessary as everyone will be transferred anyway.

The Mayor further informed that a consultation/forum has been set this Tuesday afternoon (March 13), with the DSWD, Habitat for Humanity, City Councilors, Canitoan Barangay Officials, and the Tent City dwellers to discuss the management and methods of the transfer of the occupants from the tents to the permanent houses.
