New CDO-CBFM Federation, Inc. Officers Inducted
City Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Y. Emano poses with the newly inducted officers of a group of city farmers (within the timberland in the hinterland barangays of CdeO) operating under the Community-Based Forest Management program. This year’s officers were picked during their yearly election at the CLENRO office last March 30, 2012.
The Community-Based Forest Managment (CBFM) is a program of the DENR, supported by the local government under the CLENRO, that aims to distribute lands to farmers making their living within the timberlands.
CdeO’s CBFM Federation includes 25 groups or associations of farmers occupying more or less 11,700 hectares of timberland which were distributed to 1,800 farmers since 1998-2006.
