City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano said that he is saddened by the politicking of some opponents who are exploiting the situation wherein some survivors were being dissuaded from claiming the free houses and lots meant for them.
On June 4, a total of 100 houses built by the Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HHP) were formally turned over to the beneficiary families of barangay Macasandig during the ‘Awarding of House and Lot‘ ceremony which was led by Mayor Emano, HHP chief operating officer Leonilo Escalada, Vice Mayor Caesar Ian Acenas, and members of the City Council.
As of this writing, there were already 236 families who were entered into the raffling of houses and lots in the Indahag Relocation Site where more than 1,500 houses are being constructed. Every week, 50 houses are raffled by the Estate Management Division (EMD) under the supervision of Nene Padla.
