The City of Cagayan de Oro joins the observation of June as Environment Month with a series of activities in line with the celebration.
City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano announced that the planned activities include the planting of trees in the relocation sites in Calaanan, Bolonsiri, Camaman-an, and Indahag; along the Iponan River from barangay San Simon up to Iponan; in the City Controlled Dumpsite Area; and along J.R. Borja Extension.
Besides tree planting, a clean up drive shall also be undertaken along the Cagayan River and along the coastal areas from Bulua to Bugo. Seminars/orientations will also be held on the proper disposal of waste and garbage.
“Akong gipasalamatan ang komitiba (Committee on Environment and Natural Resources) ni Kagawad President Elipe ug mga kaabag niini sa pagpasiugda og mga kalihukan nga nagtumong pagprotehir sa atong kinaiyahan,” the mayor added.
