Another batch of Sendong survivors coming from Tibasak, Macasandig, Isla de Oro, Balongis, Balulang, and Lomboy, Indahag got their certificates during an ‘Awarding of House and Lot Ceremony’ held in Balangay Pangandoy, this city, last September 28, 2012, assigning to them their permanent homes in the Indahag Relocation Site. City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano, himself, as well as the city councilors who were with him, distributed the certificates to the awardees.

The Tree Growing Activity kicked off early last September 25, 2012 as participants assembled at the City Hall quadrangle to plant trees in line with the National Tourism Week celebration. Led by Tourism Chair/Vice Mayor Caesar Ian E. Acenas, and Environment and Natural Resources Chair Councilor President D. Elipe, the tree planters consisting of members of the Oro Association of Rafters (OAR) rode off to Barangays Dansolihon, Mambuaya, and Bayanga to plant bamboo and mahogany trees mostly along the banks of the Cagayan River. City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano has ordered the police to impound mine barges and put behind bars anyone caught involved in illegal mining operations should reports about continuing illegal mining activities in Iponan be true.
“Even though I believe that these mines are mostly outside the city, it still calls for proper investigation and seizure of equipment and personnel to totally put an end to these illegal operations” the mayor firmly declared.
