DSWD Earmarks P105M for Pagatpat Relocation Houses

City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano gladly announced that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through Secretary Dinky Soliman is ready to turn over P105M funding to kickstart the construction of relocation houses in a lot bought by the city government from ex-Mayor Oloy Roa in barangay Pagatpat.

This approved appropriation was communicated by the DSWD to the mayor last Wednesday.

The mayor however suggested that the total amount is best given directly to the Habitat for Humanity as they are the ones who will construct the 3,000 houses that will, as soon as they’re completed, be turned over to the IDPs and indigent folks in the city. This way, there would be less chances of political interventions marring plans and projects intended for the city’s poor citizens.
