Country’s First LGU-Operated Youth Center Opens

The Cagayan de Oro Youth Center, located at the ground floor of City Hall’s new west wing building formally opens as City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano ceremonially cuts the ribbon shortly after this week’s flag raising ceremony.

Originally created to serve as a drop-in and referral center, and a peer helping hub for young people, it has now expanded to offer library services, city college tutorials, livelihood skills training, and spiritual enhancement for the city’s youth.

With the mayor are Social Services Chair Councilor Nadia Emano-Elipe, SK Chairman Sunshine Obsioma, and Family Relations Chair Councilor Annie Daba.

  1. Wow… one thing I appreciate much Mayor Emano, putting up this center for the youth of our city, to which the youth will be served well as far as I deem it that way. Hope more projects will be conducted for the benefit of our youth, under which they will appreciate life as beautiful as our city’s booming tourism, moreover that is the youth would acquire skills therein like leadership and technical-vocational. finally, in point of our social morale value the young ones of our city must be imbued with the desirable attitudes through spiritual training and workshops.
