Medical-Dental Mission and Tree Planting Program @ Ecoville Lumbia

While a medical-dental mission was held at the Berjaya-GK Village in Upper Bolonsiri in the morning of December 15, 2012, the City Government also brought another medical-dental mission, in the afternoon of the same day, to the residents of Ecoville in Lumbia, a relocation site set up by Xavier University in their own lands in Lumbia.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed for the Tree Planting Program which covers the planting of the fruit trees as well as its maintenance until the trees bear fruits.

CdeO’s Business Stability Unaffected by Recent Tragedy

Despite the recent tragic ordeal that CdeO experienced due to the typhoon Sendong, the city’s business community remained stable and unaffected, and in fact registered an increase in the city’s collections.

City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano announced that the city’s business tax collection amounted to P608.9M as of October 23, 2012, which is plus P89.6M over last year’s collection.

The collection on real property tax, on the other hand, rose by P45.6M above the 2011 RPT collection, totaling P312.3M within the last 9 months of this year.

These numbers do not include yet the collections soon to pour in for the last 2 months of 2012.

2nd VYE Cup Inter-Brgy Basketball Tournament Championship games Slated on October 20 @ XU Gym

The 2nd VYE Cup Inter-Brgy Basketball Tournament Championship games is scheduled to be held on October 20 @ the Xavier University Gym along Corrales Avenue.

City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano invites every basketball enthusiast to come and watch the event as this tournament is free and requires no entrance fee. There will also be free cellphones, t-shirts, and basketballs to be raffled off to the audience during the game.

Pipe Fitters & Welders Bound for Abu Dhabi

The employer himself, Mr. Wolfgang Ochoki (below picture, 3rd from right), a German national, visited the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at City Hall to personally supervise the interview and processing of potential employees. VYE: Increase Police Visibility as Classes Begin

City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano ordered the police force to tighten security measures around both public and private schools as classes begin this year.

Kinahanglan gayud ang police visibility sa atong mga tunghaan ning pagbukas sa klase aron mapakgang ang mga dautang elemento nga mohimo og krimen sa atong mga kabataan,” the Mayor stated.

The order was given as it was observed that petty crimes like snatching, robbery, and other similar rackets tend to increase as classes begin in schools.

VYE Lauds Police For Successful Raid Against Illegal Mining

City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano commended CdeO’s police force for their successful operation after they confiscated 4 expensive mining equipment used in illegal mining operations in barangays Pagalungan and Dansolihon in this city.

Akong gi-dayeg ang malampusong pag-ronda sa mga operatiba sa Public Safety Command sa atong kapolisan, ubos ni Police Supt. Danilo Tumanda, diin mi-resulta sa pag-konpiskar sa maong mga hydraulic equipment,” the Mayor stated.

Hina-ut nga kanunay’ng ipadayon sa kapolisan ang masubsob nga kampanya batok sa iligal nga pag-mina diha sa atong kabukiran aron hingpit natong mapanalipdan ang kinaiyahan,” the mayor said as he encouraged police to continue this campaign.

Concerned Group Donates Additional Classrooms for School @ Relocation Site

City Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Y. Emano expressed his sincere gratitude to a group of concerned citizens who has pledged to donate two (2) classrooms in the Calaanan Relocation Site.

Edgar N. Mutya, a representative of the group, confirmed their desire to donate the classrooms during his meeting yesterday with Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Y. Emano. Mutya disclosed that his group and friends in Japan shall shoulder the cost of the materials and construction of a 2-classroom building complete with a comfort room and playground. Another group, a women’s group from Davao, has also pledged to build a Health Center which is to be constructed very soon.

Sheltering the Sendong Survivors: City Forges Strong Private Sector Partnership

City continues to forge strong partnership with private sector in a bid to hasten building shelter for Sendong survivors

Another ground breaking ceremony in Upper Bolonsiri, Cagayan de Oro City to build 200 houses marked the strong partnership of the City Government with the private sector in its bid to hasten relocation efforts for all Sendong survivors.

Last February 17, 2012, City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano, joined Mr. Paul Soo, Chief of Berjaya Group Philippines, Executive Director Luis Oquiñana of Gawad Kalinga (GK) and other city government officials in the capsule laying during the groundbreaking ceremonies in a city government owned lot in Upper Bolonsiri.

Members of Cagayan de Oro City Council were also present during the ground breaking ceremony. City officials came as one as they welcomed and supported the establishment of Berjaya Village in Upper Bolonsiri where construction of 200 houses will soon begin and hundreds of typhoon Sendong survivors will be provided with shelter, as well as moved to safer grounds.
