CHEMCO’s ‘Winningest’ Guy
Eng’r Armen Cuenca not only took home one of the give-away prizes during the City Hall Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (CHEMCO) General Assembly, he also came out as the topmost Board of Director candidate having garnered the most votes during the election held at the same event at the LKK Center Atrium. The other new Board of Directors are Eldie Daayata, Honorio Diputado Jr., Eng’r. Nonito Oclarit, and Cecilia Galarita.

City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano warmly congratulated the new set of officers of the City Hall Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (CHEMCO) after they took their oaths before the mayor recently.
“Dako ang akong panghinaut nga pinaagi sa maayong pagdumala sa mga bag-ong opisyales, ubos ni Engr. Nestor S. Caylo, ang Chairman sa Board of Directors, mosamot pa ang kalig-on sa pagtubo ug paglambo sa CHEMCO,” the Mayor said as he wished the cooperative to prosper even more.
Also, recalling that the CHEMCO had approached him several weeks ago about their request for a bigger office space, Mayor Emano declared that the CHEMCO be relocated to their new office in the new City hall building.
CdeO 1st District Congressman Benjo Benaldo personally turned over a farm tractor complete with implements for poor farmers for which City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano expressed his gratitude in front of the City Hall employees during this week’s flag raising ceremony.
“Bililhon kini kaayo ug dakong tabang sa atong mga kabus nga mag-uuma aron mosaka ang ilang kinitaan kay mapadali na man unya ang pagtanom ug pag-ani sa ilang mga abot sa pag-uma,” the mayor stated as he thanked Congressman Benaldo, who in the past few months have already turned over several units of hand tractors to the city.
In the same occasion, the Mayor also thanked Ating Koop Partylist Congressman Isidro Q. Lico after the latter turned over a multicab to the CdeO Farmers Federation and P100,000.00 assistance cheques each to the CDO Airport Multi-purpose Cooperative, CDO Truck Drivers and Operators Transport Cooperative, Gapo (Consolacion) Community Cooperative, and the Cooperative Bank of Misamis Oriental.
Other grants applied by the Ating Koop Partylist from its Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) include P400,000.00 assistance given to the ABCCA, Crosswind SUV for the Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperatives, P10M allocation for the construction of CDA building, Cooperative and Livelihood Training Center in Canitoan, and concreting of portion of road in Macasanding.

CHEMCO & Other CdeO Coops Receive Assistance From Ating Koop Partylist
City Hall Employees Multi-purpose Cooperative (CHEMCO) General Manager Ligaya Nacalaban (4th from left) and Eng’r Armen Cuenca (5th from left) received the P100T assistance cheque from Ating Koop Partylist Congressman Isidro Q. Lico (2nd from right) in the presence of City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano who thanked the Congressman for his genuine generosity to the city’s cooperatives. Several other CdeO beneficiary cooperatives also received aids from the Congressman’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) in the form of P100T assistance cheques or a vehicle (multicab, see inset) during the flag raising ceremony at the City Hall premises, Monday morning.
City Administrator Griscelda M. Joson and City Hall Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (CHEMCO) Chairman Eng’r Armen Cuenca led the cutting of the ribbon during the re-opening ceremony of the CHEMCO Canteen located within the City Hall premises. After a little over 4 months since it was destroyed by the flood brought by typhoon Sendong, the new CHEMCO Canteen is back and is now open to serve City Hall employees and visitors.
