Mayor Dongkoy Emano to Turnover 300 New Houses

Not less than 300 newly completed houses in the Calaanan Relocation Site are set to be formally turned over to the beneficiary families during the House and Lot Awarding Ceremony, June 8, 2012 9:00 a.m. at the Calaanan Covered Court, according to Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano.

Besides Mayor Emano, members of the city council, barangay captains, and department heads of City Hall, other honored guests are expected to attend like Leonilo Escalada, chief operating officer of Habitat for Humanity Philippines; Mr. Efren Uy of the Filipino-Chinese Community; Eng’r Jose Gatus of the Oro Habitat; and DSWD regional director Atty. Araceli Solamillo.

The Mayor, again, reiterated his assurance that not a single cent shall be asked from the beneficiaries as these houses and lots are all free for the Sendong survivors, and without regard of political affiliation or leaning.

The series of turnovers of completed houses in the Indahag and Calaanan Relocation Sites is the result of Mayor Emano’s determination to see all survivors in their own new permanent homes by August of this year.

Bililhon kini kaayo ug dakong tabang sa atong mga kabus nga mag-uuma aron mosaka ang ilang kinitaan kay mapadali na man unya ang pagtanom ug pag-ani sa ilang mga abot sa pag-uma,” the mayor stated as he thanked Congressman Benaldo, who in the past few months have already turned over several units of hand tractors to the city.

In the same occasion, the Mayor also thanked Ating Koop Partylist Congressman Isidro Q. Lico after the latter turned over a multicab to the CdeO Farmers Federation and P100,000.00 assistance cheques each to the CDO Airport Multi-purpose Cooperative, CDO Truck Drivers and Operators Transport Cooperative, Gapo (Consolacion) Community Cooperative, and the Cooperative Bank of Misamis Oriental.

VYE Optimistic on Completion of 7,000 Houses by August

City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Y. Emano is hopeful about the completion of not less than 7,000 houses for the typhoon Sendong survivors which are currently being constructed in various permanent relocation sites in the city.

VYE to MGB: Clarify Mining Ban Order

City Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Y. Emano made it clear that he has nothing against the MGB-initiated mining ban should it be implemented in Cagayan de Oro as long as they (Mines and Geo-sciences Bureau) specify which form of mining is to be halted.

mayor emano

Uyon ako nianang mining ban, ug wala ako’y pagsupak. Apan, i-tataw una sa MGB ang maong kamandoan kay daghan man klase sa pag-mina, ma-legal man o’ illegal,” the mayor clarified.

Clearing up any ambiguities in the order will help in laying out a clear-cut plan for its implementation, the mayor said, “aron ma-giyahan ang mga opisyales sa siyudad sa tukmang lakang diha sa pagtuman sa maong mando“.
