“Hinaut, puhon sa bulan sa Agosto ning tuig, ato nang mahuman kining mga balay nga gitukod karon sa Habitat for Humanity, Gawad Kalinga, Oro Habitat, Filipino-Chinese Chamber, Xavier University ug gobyerno sa dakbayan. City Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Y. Emano made it clear that he has nothing against the MGB-initiated mining ban should it be implemented in Cagayan de Oro as long as they (Mines and Geo-sciences Bureau) specify which form of mining is to be halted.
“Uyon ako nianang mining ban, ug wala ako’y pagsupak. Apan, i-tataw una sa MGB ang maong kamandoan kay daghan man klase sa pag-mina, ma-legal man o’ illegal,” the mayor clarified.
Clearing up any ambiguities in the order will help in laying out a clear-cut plan for its implementation, the mayor said, “aron ma-giyahan ang mga opisyales sa siyudad sa tukmang lakang diha sa pagtuman sa maong mando“.
